How To Get a Bryant Marriage License
Both parties must come to the clerk's office together. Bring a valid, non-expired, government-issued photo ID for each person. A state driver's license, state ID card, passport, or military ID all work. If you were married before, bring a certified copy of the divorce decree or a death certificate for the prior spouse.
The fee is $60.00. Saline County accepts cash and major cards, with a card surcharge. Saline County also offers a reduced fee for couples who have completed state-approved premarital counseling, so ask the clerk at the window if you have a counseling certificate in hand. Adults 18 and older sign the application and the clerk issues the license on the spot. No wait. No blood test.
Applicants 17 years old need both parents present. The parents sign a notarized affidavit of consent under Arkansas Code § 9-11-102. Saline County imposes the state's 5 business day wait before the license can be picked up. No one under 17 may get a license in most cases. The narrow pregnancy exception at § 9-11-103 sends the case to a circuit judge.
Bring these to the Saline County Clerk:
- Valid photo ID for each party
- Social Security number for each party
- Divorce decree or prior spouse's death certificate if you were wed before
- $60 cash or a debit/credit card
- Notarized parental affidavit if a party is 17
- Premarital counseling certificate if you want the reduced fee
Note: Both parties have to be at the window in person together. The Saline County Clerk does not take a marriage license application by phone, mail, or email.
Bryant Marriage License Rules
Bryant follows the statewide rules in Arkansas Code Title 9, Chapter 11. The license is good anywhere in Arkansas, not just inside Saline County. You can pick it up in Benton and hold the ceremony at a wedding venue in Bryant, Hot Springs, or any other city in the state. The signed license must be returned to the Saline County Clerk, used or not, inside 60 days of the date of issue.
Under § 9-11-213, a short list of people may sign the license as officiant. That list includes the Governor, any current judge of a court of record, any justice of the peace, any regularly ordained minister or priest, the mayor of any city or town, and any elected district court judge. Ministers must record their credentials with a county clerk under § 9-11-214 before they can sign an Arkansas marriage license. Saline County records the credentials in the same office that issues licenses.
The county also offers a covenant marriage option at Arkansas Code § 9-11-803. A covenant marriage carries extra steps and a shorter list of grounds for divorce. Couples must take authorized counseling before they sign the declaration of intent.

Saline County is on the CIS Arkansas marriage license portal. The portal is a free online tool that covers many Arkansas counties. You can search by either party's name. The state keeps a separate index of marriage coupons from 1917 forward at the Arkansas Division of Vital Records. Access at the state level is tighter under statute 20-18-305. The county clerk copy is the public copy. The state copy goes only to the registrant, close family, a designated agent, or people who can show a right to the record.

Certified Copies for Bryant Couples
A certified copy of a Saline County marriage license carries the clerk's seal and is the paper you need for Social Security, the passport office, a pension claim, or an immigration file. The clerk prints the copy at the window while you wait. You can also order by mail.
Mail orders go to Saline County Clerk Doug Curtis, 215 N. Main Street, Suite 9, Benton, AR 72015. Include a written request with the full names of both parties, the date of the marriage if known, a daytime phone number, a check or money order for the fee, and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Call (501) 303-5630 first to confirm the current fee and the accepted payment forms.
For the state-level copy of the marriage coupon, order online through VitalChek, the state's official online vendor. The state fee is $10.00, and VitalChek adds a processing fee. The record ships in 7 to 14 days plus shipping. The VitalRec Arkansas reference page lists the state fees and walk-in hours at 4815 West Markham in Little Rock.
